Wadima Salim Al Darmaky, Inspector of Industrial Security at the Health and Work Safety Department (HWSD) in AALO said that the work belonged to 12 of the 56 companies surveyed by the department.
Wadima added that the workers’ injuries varied from slight to medium and serious.
“The department had focused on contracting companies, but in the coming months we will include shops and ateliers in the Al Ain industrial area. The department will check the pollution, especially the noise pollution, that affects work environment in addition to lighting, heat and humidity, radiation and gas emissions at work sites,” she added.
She said the HWSD has up-to-date devices to check work environment.
