40,000 students visited Al Ain Zoo last year

The Al Ain Zoo has offered educational programmes to 40,000 students from 1,200 schools across the UAE in 2017.
Officials said there are specialised programmes at the Sheikh Zayed Desert Learning Centre, which is part of Al Ain Zoo, on diverse subjects for pupils from grades three to 12.
Mohammed Al Jabri, senior officer from the Sheikh Zayed Desert Learning Centre, said: "The educational programmes at Al Ain Zoo aim to provide a unique learning experience and provide students with opportunities to learn through a variety of educational methods."
Omar Yousef Alblooshi, the centre's director marketing and corporate communication, said: "We offer non-traditional educational programmes that offer opportunities for learning and acquiring information through innovative methods that are different from the usual school environment."
The Sheikh Zayed Desert Learning Centre provides a comprehensive account of the environment in Abu Dhabi, its environmental preservation efforts and a growing sustainability agenda.
