ABU DHABI — With just a few days left of the holy month of Ramadan, the Red Crescent Society (RCS) has intensified its Zakat distribution to thousands of eligible families in the country. RCS has so far distributed Dh2 million among nearly 4,000 families across the country.
Khalifa Nasser al Suwaidi, chairman of the Board of directors of RCS, said that the Society had mobilised all its resources and voluntary personnel to distribute Zakat, as per the directives of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and chairman of RCS.
Mohammed Habroosh Al Rumaithi, secretary general for Local Affairs at the RCS, said Zakat worth Dh412,000 was distributed to the beneficiaries in Abu Dhabi, Dh142,000 was distributed in Bani Yas, Dh284,000 in Al Ain and adjoining areas, Dubai (Dh198,000), Ajman (Dh160,000), Sharjah (Dh198,000), Fujairah (Dh226,000), Umm Al Quwain (Dh82,000), Western region (Dh72,000), and Fujairah (Dh226,000).
