400 medical experts set for key meet

ABU DHABI - About 400 international, Arab and local medical professors and doctors of a high calibre, will meet in the capital on April 18 for the '5th UAE Diagnostic Imaging Conference' to discuss recent approaches in the diagnostic imaging for detecting various diseases.

Consultants and experts from USA, UK, Canada, Greece, Norway, Italy, Indian, Belgium, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Egypt and the UAE, will participate in the conference.

During the four-day conference, which is organised under the patronage of Minister of Health, Hamad Abdul Rahman Al Midfa will shed light on more than 87 different scientific topics in using different imaging methods and radiation to diagnose diseases.

"This gathering will help individuals to develop their skills in their career," said Dr Abdul Ghaffar Abdul Ghaffor, Assistant Under-Secretary of the Central Curative Medicine Department at the Ministry of Health and President of the forthcoming conference.

Important medical issues, including 'Non-surgical management of focal hepatic Lesions', 'Quality Control in Diagnostic Dadiology', 'References Doses in Diagnostic and Interventional X-rays', 'Normal Imaging Anatomy of the Mediastinum', 'Improvement in Radiographic Image Quality', 'Clinical Applications of Gated SPECT', 'MRI of the Breast', 'Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) in Non-palpable Breast Lesions', 'Multi-slice CT (MSCT): New Contrast Media Injection Modalities', 'Magnetic Resonance Urology (MRU)', 'Imaging of Headache', 'Imaging of the Larynx' and the 'High Resolution Ultrasound of Head and Neck', will be broadly discussed during the conference.
