RAS AL KHAIMAH — About 40 houses are being built in the Sabeit area for families whose homes were affected by the new development projects in the various parts of the emirate, including roads and other industrial projects.
Shaikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, had ordered the construction of these houses and cash compensation of Dh50,000 to the families affected by the new projects located behind the Sabeit ceramics factory.
Addressing the media on Tuesday, Mubarak Ali Al Shamsi, Director-General of Ras Al Khaimah Municipality, said the construction will be completed very soon and the houses will be handed over to their beneficiaries shortly.
He stressed that the beneficiaries of the new housing project are the families whose homes and properties were affected by the development projects in Khor Al Khoir and Al Dhaid areas in southern Ras Al Khaimah.
Al Shamsi noted that the total cost of the housing project is estimated at Dh30 million.
He added that the government will also bear the electricity and water expenses for these housing projects.
According to Al Shamsi, Shaikh Saud has also ordered for compensation to be paid to landlords through whose lands the new power lines from Abu Dhabi had passed.
