Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC), one of the leading 3D Animation and Visual Effects training provider in India launched its Training Academy in Dubai on Tuesday.

The academy will provide training in all aspects of 3D animation to those desirous of a career in the animation industry.

Naveen Gupta, the chief operating officer of MAAC, said, "The academy will provide training through different courses such as 'Advanced' and 'Professional' Diplomas in 3D animation and Visual Effects in addition to various short-term programmes."

Gupta added, "These courses, with training periods ranging from 4 to 15 months, have been designed keeping in mind latest industry requirements and are constantly upgraded by a panel of experts comprising animators, instructors and artists from the industry."

The courses would be complemented by frequent seminars and workshops conducted by top experts from both Indian and international animation industry, he pointed out. "Besides students would get a chance to visit production houses in Mumbai (India) for a first-hand view of the working there," he added.

"We are aware that language could be a problem here. Therefore, as a preliminary measure, we would be assigning interpreters who would translate everything for the local students. The faculty will be from India. We have centres in Al Ain and Abu Dhabi and they are doing a great job. With Dubai, we would be building a strong base in the whole region," stated Gupta.

The academy's representatives said the course fees would be anything from from Dh2,000 to Dh20,000 depending on the types of courses. The courses would cover topics ranging from traditional art and pre-production skills to high-end computer animation including character animation, architectural pre-visualisation, visual effects and motion graphics etc. They would also include sketching, illustration, storyboarding and visualisation for production and post-production processes et al.

The software packages taught by MAAC include Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Autodesk 3Ds Max, etc.
