31 new buses to be introduced in RAK schools

RAS AL KHAIMAH — From the next acadmeic year, a fleet of 31 new buses would be introduced in Ras Al Khaimah schools in order to ease the transport problem of the students. The additional buses operated by Emirates Transport in Ras Al Khaimah will increase the total number of the buses transporting students in the emirate to 306.

The Manager of Emirates Transport in Ras Al Khaimah, Obaid Buraik, said that the drivers were undergoing safety skills training under Ras Al Khaimah Education Zone's slogan "Back to School Safety." He also noted that 20 of the new buses would be handed over to the schools at the beginning of the next month while the remaining fleet would be made available in the following months.

The Director of Ras Al Khaimah Education Zone, Abdullah Hamad, said about 32,000 students in public schools of Ras Al Khaimah are using the bus services.

He stressed that with the addition of new buses to the existing fleet would help the students become punctual when coming to school and going back home.
