26 companies found violating midday break

ABU DHABI — The Ministry of Labour (MoL) has found 26 companies in the emirate of Abu Dhabi violating the extended midday break rule till yesterday, according to Qaseem Jameel, deputy director of the Inspection Department in the MoL.

“We found 21 companies in the capital and five in Al Ain, violating the ministerial decision,” said Jameel.

Violators will face fines of Dh10,000, Dh20,000, and Dh30,000 for the first, second and third violations, respectively. In addition, the companies would risk suspension of dealings with the ministry for three months, six months and a year for the first, second and third violations, respectively. The fine amount will be multiplied by the number of workers found working during the extended midday break.
