25 firms conduct seminars at DKV

DUBAI — In an attempt to reposition itself as a Human Resources Development (HRD) and Human Resources Management (HRM) training provider, the first Annual Training and Open HR Day of Dubai Knowledge Village (DKV) began on Sunday.

More than 25 companies are conducting workshops and seminars for individuals and corporates across different sectors in the Middle East.

These events are being organised with the aim of stressing on DKV's new role as an HR hub rather than as an educational center.

With the recent launch of Dubai International Academic City (DIAC) for international higher educational institutes, DKV is all set to don its new hat as an establishment that drives the growth of education and training sectors through the sharing of knowledge and the exchange of ideas.

Apart from seminars, the event also aims at providing a platform for networking for different stakeholders.

Commenting on the seminars, participant Shaikha Ali Al Dhaheri, Planning and Procedures Analyst from the Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company, said, "The seminars are useful for self-development and it is good to interact with different companies. It is extremely interesting just to sit and listen to these trainers talk."

Dr Ayoub Kazim, Executive Director, Dubai Knowledge Village and Dubai International Academic City, said that it was part of their strategy to drive growth in education and training. "We want to provide an opportunity for institutes and companies to understand cutting-edge concepts from the world of HR, training, assessment and consultancy. We are trying to reposition as a HRD and HRM training provider."

The participating companies at the event include Dale Carnegie Training Gulf, Gibson Consulting, Innovative Human Resource Solutions, Synergy Professional Services, Mawaride, Paradigmz, Leading Concepts and Potential.
