"They say making a decision is easy… but living with the decision may be considerably harder," said Aisha Al Ayderous in her speech on behalf of the graduates.
ZU's Abu Dhabi campus hosted the event for the 22 graduating students which was attended by Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and President of Zayed University, Dr Sulaiman Al Jassim, the university's Vice-President and Dr James P. Cross, Vice Provost, International Programmes and Services at Clemson University in the USA
Shaikh Nahyan said: “We celebrate the University's commitment to providing its graduates with an exemplary education — an education that benefits students, meets international standards and advances the overall development of the country.”
He said the graduation is also an opportunity to acknowledge the strong partnership with the University of Kentucky, Clemson University and Oklahoma State University in offering this EMBA programme.
Cross who is also Professor of Political Science at Clemson University said it was clear that different cultures have different patterns of communication and problem solving. “This should lead us to understand that there can be no one 'right' management culture or model in the global economy. Just as one model for governance is not successful in every country in the world nor is one management model. Successful global managers know this and are willing to adapt,” he noted.
At the close of the ceremony EMBA sponsors were honoured by Shaikh Nahyan. The sponsors were Saif Ahmed Al Ghurair, Chairman, Al Ghurair Group, and Dr Abdallah Salah Al Mograby, Head, Studies Division in the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, followed by Mohamed Abdallah Al Mainnah, and Abdulla Nasser bin Hawaileel Al Mansoori, Chairman of Al Nassar Holding, and Mohammed Al Masood of the National Consultative Council for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and Jamal Jaber Al Dharif, General Manager of ADNOC Distribution.
