SPF Precut Lumber celebrates its silver anniversary in Dubai
SPF Precut Lumber currently exports over 200 million boardfeet of lumber to 20 countries worldwide on an annual basis.
Dubai — As an ambassador for Canadian softwood lumber products, the award winning Canadian company, SPF Precut Lumber, is honoured to celebrate its silver anniversary in Dubai, on Monday (April 13), as a precursor to the Dubai International Wood and Wood Machinery Show 2015.
SPF Precut Lumber currently exports over 200 million boardfeet of lumber to 20 countries worldwide on an annual basis. The Middle East market continues to be the linchpin for the company’s export strategy and success.
To celebrate its milestone and appreciate its partners in the Middle East, SPF Precut Lumber will be hosting an invitation only Canadian Softwood Lumber Grading Seminar and Anniversary Celebration on Monday at the Ramada Hotel Dubai.
In 2013, SPF Precut Lumber hosted the first-ever Canadian lumber grading seminar ever held in the Gulf region. This year, the company will reprise the seminar to provide end users in the Middle East with more tools and knowledge to make better lumber purchasing decisions and optimise their own operations.
In an interview with Khaleej Times in 2013, SPF Precut Lumber President, Muhammad Amir, stated that his company goal was to achieve a 65 per cent market share for all softwood lumber exported to the Middle East from British Columbia (BC), Canada. By 2014, SPF Precut Lumber exceeded this goal. In 2014, Canada exported 95.8 million bft of softwood lumber to the Middle East (of which, 78.34 million bft was exported from BC). In the same calendar year, SPF Precut Lumber exported approximately 55 million bft to the Middle East from BC, giving the company a 70 per cent market share of all BC softwood lumber exported to the Middle East and a 57 per cent market share of all Canadian softwood lumber to the Middle East. As a demonstration of market leadership, SPF Precut Lumber continues to strive to equip Gulf region companies with greater understanding of the competitive advantages from using Canadian wood products in various industrial applications.
SPF Precut Lumber will also be exhibiting at the Dubai Wood Show from April 14-16, 2015 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, with the largest exhibition space out of all Canadian participants.
