The 55-year-old German national — who holds a Guinness World Record for 453 piercings on his body including multiple ones on his ears, nose, lips and genitals — was stopped at the Dubai International Airport. No other details were immediately available.

The nightclub said on its Facebook page that Buccholz probably “did not pack right”. According to sources, the club had attempted to facilitate his entry and resolve the problem, but the programme was held on Friday without Buccholz, who, in addition to his piercings, also has horns implanted in his forehead and magnets inserted into his fingertips.

Talking about his horns in an interview with City Times on August 14, Buccholz had said: “I saw pictures of the horns and liked them, so I got some small horns and made them bigger and bigger. The operation was quite easy, it’s not deep — only under the skin — and it doesn’t hurt afterwards.”
