Shaikh Khalifa holds talks with Qatar, Egypt leaders

The President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on Thursday received separately the Amir of Qatar, His Highness Shaikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and Egyptian President Adly Mansour at Al Rawda Palace in Al Ain.
The meeting with Shaikh Tamim was held in the presence of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; and Shaikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President’s Representative.
Shaikh Tamim was visiting the country as part of a tour of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Shaikh Khalifa welcomed Shaikh Tamim and the accompanying delegation and wished him success in leading the country towards further progress and prosperity.
They discussed prospects for cooperation and development of relations between the UAE and Qatar for the benefit of the two brotherly peoples. Ways to strengthen the march of the GCC and the latest developments in the region were also discussed at the meeting.
Shaikh Tamim expressed his happiness to visit the UAE and meet Shaikh Khalifa, and his pride in the strong brotherly relations and developments of UAE-Qatar relations within the framework of the GCC’s blessed march, and to serve the interests of “our brothers in the GCC”.
He stressed the need to achieve greater cooperation and coordination among the GCC countries to face the challenges in the region.
Shaikh Tamim expressed his admiration and appreciation for the experience and cultural development achieved by the UAE, led by Shaikh Khalifa, and wished the UAE further progress and prosperity. Shaikh Khalifa and Shaikh Tamim confirmed at the end of the meeting the importance of exchanging meetings, consultation and coordination between the two countries and between the GCC countries, thus contributing to the strengthening of security and stability in the region.
Shaikh Khalifa bestowed the Zayed Medal on Shaikh Tamim as the embodiment of the depth of the brotherly relations between the two brotherly countries and peoples.
Shaikh Khalifa also received Egyptian President Mansour, who is on an official visit to the country. During the meeting that took place in the presence of Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Shaikh Sultan, Shaikh Khalifa hailed the fraternal relations between the two countries.
President Mansour briefed the UAE President on implementation of the roadmap to achieve political, security and economic stability in Egypt. Mansour expressed his admiration of the prosperity being experienced by the UAE.
Shaikh Khalifa wished Egypt progress as well as security and stability, noting that the country represents one of the focal points of stability in the region. Adly Mansour later left the UAE at the end of his visit.
Shaikh Tamim and his accompanying delegation also left the UAE on Thursday. He was seen off by Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed.
Shaikh Khalifa later received a cable from Shaikh Tamim, who expressed his thanks and appreciation for the warm welcome and great hospitality accorded to him and his delegation during his visit to the UAE which he described as his second home.
Shaikh Tamim also expressed his pleasure at having had the opportunity to meet Shaikh Khalifa.
