Indian Ambassador to the UAE M. K. Lokesh released a book titled Distressing Encounters - Real Life Stories from a Reporterís Diary by Dubai-based Indian journalist V. M. Sathish on Thursday.

The first copy was presented to a distressed Indian engineer-turned-tuition teacher.

Distressing Encounters is a collection of more than 600 human interest stories reported by Sathish in 10 major English dailies—Khaleej Times, Gulf News, Daily Star/International Herald Tribune, Emirates Evening Post, 7DAYs, Oman Daily Observer, Emirates Today, Emirates Business 24|7, Emirates 24|7 and The Indian Express.

The book narrates real-life stories of distressed and marginalised expatriates from different countries and cultures and the role played by the media, especially the English media, in extending a helping hand to such people.
