Lubna receives Jersey’s Chief Minister
Shaikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Development and International Co-operation, received today, Senator Ian Gorst, Chief Minister of Island of Jersey, UK.
During the meeting, they reviewed ways of enhancing the cooperation between the two countries in all international development and humanitarian action aspects.
Shaikha Lubna confirmed that UAE is constantly looking forward to enhancing its partnership with international parties and align their points of view, in order to enhance the development and humanitarian efforts globally in the underprivileged countries, based on the belief of UAE’s wise leadership of the importance of effectuating the joint international efforts in the field of development and humanitarian action.
She said that UAE’s contributions, and the advanced rank it has achieved in the development and humanitarian aid provision arena, clearly indicates the importance that UAE is giving to the development and humanitarian action; stating that UAE’s attaining of the 16th rank internationally in this field, encourages UAE donors of humanitarian and development aid to increase their efforts and contributions in supporting the developing countries worldwide.
In return, the Chief Minister of Jersey has reviewed the potential cooperation opportunities with UAE, discussing the programmes and projects’ mechanisms that his country is applying in the international development field, using recent techniques, in addition to ways to intensify the technical cooperation with various humanitarian and development organizations, expressing the desire of his country of enhancing its partnership with UAE in all international development and humanitarian aspects, appraising the expertise that UAE has attained in all international development and humanitarian aspects, and its effective efforts in providing development aid and all other relief efforts for affected people of man-made crises, such as in wars, food deficiencies, drought, poverty, in accordance with the directions and estimations of the international institutions.
