The sultanate’s state-owned Oman News Agency (ONA) and the Palestinian News and Information Agency (PNIA) have signed a cooperation agreement.

It was inked here on Saturday by Zamzam bint Sulaiman Al Rashidiyah, Director-General and Editor-in-Chief of ONA, and Riyadh Al Hassan, Chairman of PNIA, who is currently visiting Oman.

Hassan said the deal would result in exchange of pictures and news and joint training of staff between the two agencies. “It will open the door for diversified and multiple activities” that would considerably benefit both sides, he added.

Hassan said the accord would also promote the sultanate’s stature among Palestinian readers, besides encouraging Omani investment in Palestine and lead to more Palestinian tourists visiting the Gulf country.

“It will give the Palestinian readers daily glimpses of the sultanate, its geographic location and its rich history,” he said.
