Bill Clinton to attend award ceremony

Former US president Bill Clinton, Founder of the William J. Clinton Foundation, will participate and deliver a speech during a ceremony to present the ‘Sultan Qaboos Award for Excellence in eGovernment 2011’ this week.

The event, on Monday at the Sultan Qaboos Cultural Centre, Sultan Qaboos University, will be presided over by Sayyid Shihab bin Tareq Al Said.

A total of 44 e-projects from 23 government departments in the sultanate took part in the annual eGovernment competition, organised by the Information Technology Authority (ITA), this year. The award is divided into a number of categories such as best e-content, best e-service, best e-economy, best e-project and best e-readiness.
