UAE’s support to Libya hailed
ABU DHABI — The Libyan people will always be grateful for the assistance provided by the UAE during the past months, according to a senior Libyan official.
“The Interim Transitional National Council, its executive board and all the Libyan people will always appreciate the support and the positions of the leadership and people of the UAE,” head of the General Telecommunication Authority of Libya (GTA) Fawzi Khalifa Al Barrani said.
Speaking on reconstruction plans in post-Ghaddafi Libya, Al Barrani said Libya’s reconstruction and modernisation plans for its telecom sector will be announced after the government is formed.”
“The Libyan government will respect, as much as possible, all the contracts already signed. We will seek to replace the contracts that are not feasible and replace them with better ones,” he added. —
