PM announces total freedom’ for media
TUNIS — Tunisian Prime Minister Mohammed Ghannouchi on Monday announced “total freedom” for the media and said a ban on the activities of the North African state’s main human rights group had been lifted.
“We announce total freedom of information,” Ghannouchi said.
“We have decided to allow all associations to have normal activities without any interference on the part of the government,” he said, listing the League of Human Rights as one of the organisations.
