ADAC welcomes Air France to the UAE capital
ABU DHABI - Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) today welcomed Air France’s new service between Abu Dhabi and Paris, from 3 May 2010, taking advantage of the strong and growing links between the two capitals and opening up opportunities for new connections from Abu Dhabi to numerous destinations in France.
Drawing on the success of the existing six-time a week non-stop flights operated by KLM between Abu Dhabi and Amsterdam, ADAC was able to clearly demonstrate to Air France the benefits of expanding their network to take advantage of the major economic transformation underway in Abu Dhabi, and connecting it with Air France/KLM’s largest hub in Europe.
The French national carrier will connect Abu Dhabi International Airport with Paris’ Charles De Gaulle Airport with five flights per week and will also provide seamless connections to many other destinations in France, Europe and internationally. The route will be served by an Airbus A330 initially configured with business and economy classes and, within a few months, Air France’s new Premium Voyageur class.
The route is expected to cater to tourism and business travellers, Abu Dhabi’s Western European expatriate population and, of course, the significant community of French who are resident in the UAE.
H.E Khalifa Al Mazrouei, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC), said:
“We are delighted to welcome Air France to Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates; it is a clear indication of the strength of both the Abu Dhabi and UAE markets to and from France. In times where large carriers are consolidating, it is very positive to see that we continue attracting more airlines, and especially Air France which has chosen Abu Dhabi as it only new service for 2010 Abu Dhabi International Airport looks forward to facilitating this relationship and in providing fast and efficient airport services to Air France and their passengers”
