No mountain high enough
WITHIN period of just 19 months, Dubai-based adventurer Adrian Hayes managed to achieve the remarkable feat of walking all the way to the North and South Poles and reaching the summit of Mount Everest - in doing so becoming the fastest person in history...
... and only the 15th person ever, to conquer the three pinnacles of the globe. On May 16, armchair adventurers or those who are simply curious to see pictures and film from the top, bottom and roof of the world, will have a unique and only opportunity to hear and see his story when the Grand Hyatt Dubai hosts Hayes's charity presentation dinner 'A Night at the 3 Poles.'
At this one-off dinner to raise awareness for the UAE-based Children's Hope Foundation and Friends of Cancer Patients charities, Hayes promises to expose the harsh realities of his recently completed walking of 1130kms across Antarctica to reach the South Pole, as well as his 50 day, 850kms, trek from northern Canada across the Arctic Ocean to the North Pole, and his two month ascent of Mount Everest.
'The dinners we did after both Everest and the North Pole were great evenings by all accounts and, amazingly to us, complete sell-outs,' commented Hayes. 'We therefore decided to do this final dinner presenting all three expeditions, and promise a pretty special, fascinating and enjoyable evening for everyone - and all for two very worthy causes,' he added.
Tickets, tables of 10 or free seating, are priced at Dh325 inclusive of a buffet dinner, all beverages, and post-presentation entertainment, and are available from the ITP toll-free ticket line (www.timouttickets.com), toll-free phone 8004669, or direct from Wolfi's Bike Shop on Shaikh Zayed Road. Ticket sales close on May 14, and no tickets will be sold on the night.
The evening is expected to be a sell-out again, and interested patrons are advised to book early for this unique opportunity to hear the story of a World record breaking adventurer.
