The cast and members of Abu Dhabi Choral Group are hard at work perfecting their lines for what promises to be fun filled performances of “Anything Goes”, the highly regarded and popular musical comedy by Cole Porter, in May at The Club (Abu Dhabi).
With just three weeks to go, the cast and members of the Abu Dhabi Choral Group are giving their all to perfect their roles and singing parts in Anything Goes, the highly popular musical comedy by Cole Porter, set in the 1920's aboard the S.S. American.Billy (played by Christopher Lamar), a love-sick Wall Street broker, sneaks on board the S.S. American, in hopes of winning the heart of his beloved Hope (played by Hannah Al-Jenaibi). Hope is on her way to England to be married to Sir Evelyn Oakleigh, a rather stuffy but wealthy British nobleman. Also on the boat is 'Moonface' Martin, a second-rate gangster disguised as a minister. Will Billy get Hope to fall in love with him? Will the gangster be caught?
Join the cast at The Club for any of their four performances and be enchanted by beautiful, familiar melodies such as “I Get a Kick Out of You”, “Anything Goes”, “It's DeLovely” and “You're the Top”.
Director Michael Crawley, who has acted and directed professionally in the United States, is excited about this production: 'Anybody can relate to this piece, the characters are all larger than life and our rehearsals are full of fun, as we re-enact the shenanigans of characters like Moonface Martin, Public Enemy # 13 who desperately wants to be Public Enemy #1.'
