Boosting medical tourism in India
DUBAI — Through tie-ups with organisations in the UAE, an Indian company specialising in medical tours is set to bring the benefits of quality healthcare facilities in India to a larger number of people in this region. This was stated by Dr G. Ravichandran, Managing Director of Solace Meditour, India who was on a visit to Dubai recently.
“We are visiting Dubai to seek cooperation in the UAE to give medical tourism in India a boost,” he said. “We also aim at offering complete internal solutions from fixing schedules, offering insurance schemes, issuing visas and other activities including providing pick and drop from the airport to the hospital so as to provide the maximum comfort to patients,” he explained.
Dr Ravichandran also said the visit to Dubai was fruitful as they had had several meetings in this regard with local authorities, and the Indian Consul General.
The company signed a contract with Media One Group of Dubai to represent and market its services in the UAE.
“Solace has signed MoUs with Manipal Hospital, Bangalore, Sri Ramchandra Medical College and Research Institute and Lifeline multi-specialty hospitals, Chennai,” Dr Ravichandran said. “We are also in the process of signing MoUs with hospitals in Hyderabad, Coimbatore and Ayurveda resorts in Kerala.”
“Our visit to Dubai is also linked to the objective of promoting these hospitals through medical references from the Middle East countries to India,” he said.
Dr Ravichandran said that Solace would promote medical tourism by making patients go through the company for treatment and stay at affordable rates.“We also assist empanelling Indian hospitals recommended by us with the health insurance companies in the UAE and Oman,” he said adding that Solace also offers master health checkup packages with resort facilities in the hospitals in Dubai.
