Visitors to the DNRD stand at Gitex were given a 50 per cent discount on their e-Gate passes.
The DNRD unveiled a series of automated services for its customers at Gitex 2008 that were developed to meet the targets of Dubai e-Government, which is working towards establishing an e-society in the emirate. Innovative services such as mobile visa service ‘M-Visa’, self-service kiosks, a facial recognition system and Amer service for registering complaints, drew the attention of high-profile visitors and technology experts.
The DNRD also honoured its strategic partners and sponsors that contributed to the success of the department’s stall, including the DIFC, DATEL Systems and Software, Emirates Computers, Avaya and CNS.
“Our accomplishments at Gitex this year have proved the importance of team work and the need to join hands with various partners to successfully achieve a common objective,” said Major-General Mohammad Ahmed Al Marri, Director-General of the DNRD.
“On this occasion, I would like to sincerely thank our partners for supporting us this year, and hope that they will continue their association with us in the future.”
During the past years, CNS has helped the DNRD by establishing a specialised data centre that operates 24 hours a day to enhance the department’s e-services workflow and efficiency, in addition to providing technical and advisory support.
“We are thrilled by our partnership with the Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department during Gitex which proved to be very successful,” said Rami Amin, Local Government Industry sales manager at CNS.
“Once again, the DNRD has succeeded in reinforcing its reputation for providing outstanding services by using the best-of-breed technologies for easier, simpler, better and faster accessibility for users across the emirate.”
