19,635 traffic rule offences in June

ABU DHABI - As many as 19,635 traffic violations were recorded during the month of June as part of the campaign against speeding launched by the Abu Dhabi Traffic and Patrols Department.

The Traffic Department also issued strict warnings to motorists who were caught driving recklessly, a press release by the department said yesterday.

In a statement, Lt-Col. Khamis Ishaq, Deputy Director of Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrols Department, said the campaign against overspeeding is going on in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Gharbia as part of the quarterly GCC campaign.

He cautioned all the motorists to abide by the traffic safety regulations and cooperate with the department in ensuring safety for all road users.
