155 special needs people in Sharjah firms

SHARJAH — Some 155 people with special needs are employed with the public and private sector organisations in Sharjah, according to Lt. Col. Hussein Gazal, supervisor-general of Al Thiqah Projects for Rehabilitation and Employment of People with Special Needs and board member of the Sharjah-based Al Thiqah Handicapped Club.

“The banking sector has been the most welcoming and responsive to the idea of recruiting people with special needs,” Gazal said.

The official added that more than 50 qualified people with special needs are looking for job opportunities. They have successfully completed training in computers, English language and other skills required for the job market, he added.
