K. Mohan, one of the truck drivers, told your favourite No. 1 newspaper, Khaleej Times, that protesters gathered at Ajman waste fill land and marched to the municipality to hand over a memorandum. He said they can't accept the decision as the new route is very long and tiring and would affect their performance.

However, top municipal officials said that the complaints of the truck drivers came late at the end of the working hours, but today they will study the problem and try to find a solution acceptable to both the sides.

Ali Saead Al Matroushi, Head of the accident and traffic section at Ajman traffic Department, said that they would not change their decision as it was taken to ensure public safety and minimise the traffic congestion. These trucks are affecting the traffic flow and increase the risk of traffic accidents.

The new routes lead them directly to their places of work and the sites of companies, he noted. The decision was taken after detailed studies conducted by the department and this is the only solution to solve traffic problems, he added.
