The points have been set up mostly near intersections and in areas where frequent road accidents take place frequently.

The move aims at allowing the police patrol to curb such incidents.

The points, which cover all roads and areas in the emirate, are equipped with electronic signboards displaying traffic awareness instructions and information.

Colonel Shaikh Sultan Al Nuaimi, Deputy Director-General of Ajman Police, told Khaleej Times that this initiative is part of the police efforts to improve services and curb crime in the emirate as well as easing traffic congestion on the roads.

The presence of these points will make residents feel more secured. afkarali@khaleejtimes.com
