11th co-op shopping fest opens
DUBAI — The Eleventh Co-operatives Shopping Festival 2006 opened yesterday on the theme of Consumer Protection.
Speaking at the inauguration, Dr Suleiman Moosa Al Jassim, Chairman of the Consumer Co-operative Union, said that the co-operative movement is deep rooted in social-economic sphere of the UAE, protecting and serving the common interest of consumers in general and the middle income group in particular in a multilingual and multicultural society.
The festival had become a favourable shopping destination for locals and expats alike, he noted.
Dr Suleiman said the festival offers co-ops items at more reduced prices from 15 to 40 per cent.
