dubai — The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) on Saturday sanctioned 113 young men and a woman from its staff to join the second batch of the UAE’s national military service.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dewa, said: “Dewa has taken the necessary measures to secure qualified replacements to ensure continuous and seamless work.”
He said that military service is a national duty that requires concerted efforts to achieve its objectives to create promising and confident young people who possess qualities of leadership in different areas.
Al Tayer said that completing national service helps young people enhance their team spirit, and supports the UAE’s national identity. Al Tayer emphasised that Dewa supports this national duty by identifying staff who have signed up for military service, in addition to their other duties.
All required arrangements have been made to assign substitutes and enable the employees to join the military on time.
