1,001 meetings to win voters

Gujarat Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader I K Jadeja told Khaleej Times that the chief minister had picked up the gauntlet of reaching the maximum number of voters by beating his gums at seven mass gatherings everyday from March 26. The Machiavellian politician, who displayed his rabble-rousing skills at 276 public rallies in the first phase before the Lok Sabha elections were announced, plans to preside over as many as 325 meetings in 46 days from March 26 to May 10, taking the total number of his speeches to 601, including road shows and group discussions with BJP workers.

The BJP’s prime ministerial candidate’s series of engagements are part of 185 ‘Bharat Vijay rallies’ in 295 Lok Sabha constituencies.

He said with the first rally in Jammu on March 26, the party had made an elaborate strategy for the Modi-for-PM campaign across the country, adding that even the chief minister’s office had worked hard to ready his busy schedule.
