10 scholarships for top school students

ABU DHABI — Ten educational scholarships for high school students in the country will be awarded under Shaikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan Scholarship programme for distinguished high school students.

Under the guidance of Shaikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and President of the Abu Dhabi University Board of Trustees and Governors, the Abu Dhabi University will award the scholarships that will cover the four-year educational programme, including tuition fee, books and transportation. Dormitory arrangements will also be made for students wishing to commute to the Al Ain campus of the University of Abu Dhabi.

In addition to these scholarships, the university provides its students with scholarship and financial aid programmes such as the President's Scholarship which entitles high school graduates with up to 100 per cent discount on their tuition fee if they maintain a grade of 95 per cent during the last two years prior to graduation.

The University Scholarship entitles graduates with an average of 95 to 100 per cent grades, up to 30 per cent of their tuition fee, and graduates with an average of 90 to 94.99 per cent up to 20 per cent discount on tuition fee and the Athletic Scholarship which grants athletes up to 25 per cent discount on the fees.

"The University has also been invited by the Al Fahim Group to attend the Abdul Jalil Award for distinguished high school students ceremony, to be held in Dubai on July 6, for award of scholarships," Ali Saeed bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, Chairman of the University Board of Governors said in the capital yesterday.

Expressing thanks to the Al Fahim Group for its initiatives in supporting academic causes, he said it will motivate the future generation to strive for excellence.

Al Fahim Group has been holding this annual award ceremony since 1997.
