10 pass Holy Quran memorisation test

DUABI - Out of over 40 UAE nationals who took part in the Programme for UAE Nationals Quran Memorisers launched by the Dubai International Holy Quran Award (DIHQA) recently, only 10, including eight men and two women, passed the tests and earned the Dh20,000 reward offered on the instructions of General Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and UAE Minister of Defence.

Dr Aref Al Sheikh, Head of the Technical Committee at DIHQA, said that the 10 contestants scored more than 70 marks for their performance before two panels of judges - one for women and another for men - last week. The winners will be given their prizes this afternoon at the Dubai Police Officers' Club.
