Dubai horses tasted success in race meetings at Newmarket in the UK and Indiana Grand in the US, while UAE-owned horses also had plenty of placings.
Al Aasy, owned by Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Minister of Finance, triumphed in the Group 3 Bahrain Trophy Stakes on the first day of Newmarket's July Festival on Thursday, while Shared Sense put himself on the road to a likely spot for the prestigious Kentucky Derby with a commanding victory in the Grade 3 Indiana Derby at Indiana Grand.
Al Aasy, the three-year-old colt from Sea The Stars, rode a tactical race under 2016 British champion jockey Jim Crowley to beat Dawn Rising by 1 ¾ lengths. Godolphin's Al Dabaran, third in the Group 2 Queen's Vase at Royal Ascot last month, had a decent run to finish third, 1 ¾ lengths behind Dawn Rising.

Meanwhile, Shared Sense, saddled by Brad H Cox and the ride of Florent Gerouzx, did no harm to his chances of making it to Kentucky, with a scintillating run to beat Major Fed by three lengths.
Horses qualify through points in the 2020 Road to the Kentucky Derby, part of the American Triple Crown, and the three-year-old colt from Street Sense, logged 20 qualifying points, courtesy of the win.
Godolphin's Derby contender Maxfield, who had won the Grade 3 Matt Winn Stakes in May, had suffered a fracture during his workout last month, ruling him out for the rest of the year.
The 146th renewal of the Kentucky Derby is to be staged at Churchill Downs on September 5.
"There are still a few races left to pick up Derby points. We will see how he comes out of this and then think about a plan for the rest of the year," Brad Cox said.
Meanwhile, Godolphin's Al Suhail won the Bahrain International Sir Henry Cecil Stakes, while Isle Of May was second in the British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Fillies' Stakes. Teodolina, owned by Sheikh Hamed Dalmook Al Maktoum finished third behind Isle Of May.
Yazaman, owned by Jebel Ali Racecourse patron Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, finished second in the Group 2 Tattersalls July Stakes.
Communique, owned by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, was second in the Group 2 Princess Of Wales's Tattersalls Stakes.
At York, Juan Elcano, owned by Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum, finished third in the Group 2 Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Dante Stakes, while his Black Caspian won the Sky Vegas Handicap.

Terebellum for G1 Falmouth Stakes

Godolphin filly Terebellum will looking to bounce back from her defeat in the Group 1 Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot when she runs in the Group 1 Falmouth Stakes on the second day of Newmarket's July Festival on Friday.
The four-year-old from Sea The Stars was victorious in all three of her starts, including two Group 2 contests, but finished second in the Queen Anne Stakes behind Circus Maximus.
"Terebellum ran a great race. They didn't go any pace, which probably played against her as she gets a mile and a quarter. She hit the front and Circus Maximus just came back on the run to the line under a rousing ride." British handler, John Gosden, who has trained more than 100 Group 1 winners across the world, said.
