Labourers back to work after police intervention

SHARJAH — Around 500 labourers of a company refused to work at Al Sajja in Sharjah last Saturday because they alleged that they were not paid salaries for the past few months and their accommodation was in a shambles.

Agreement signed to boost Sewa services

SHARJAH — Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (Sewa), has signed a $350 million deal with Sukuk Al Ijara facility for several generators and desalination projects at Hamriyah, Layyah and Khor Fakkan.

Cashier robbed at air gun point

SHARJAH — A 26-year-old Indian cashier at a Sharjah supermarket was seriously injuried yesterday with air gun shots after being robbed by three men while he was alone at work.
