Over 25,000 fans packed into the du Arena for a memorable night of exceptional musical entertainment as the legendary Lionel Richie took to the Yasalam After-Race Concerts stage in Abu Dhabi. His fans sang along with him as he performed hit after hit, which has made him a household name all over the world.

The electric atmosphere within du Arena was already charged by the time the iconic performer took to the stage as fans greeted the breaking news displayed on the concert screens that Abu Dhabi would celebrate this year's New Year's Eve with the return of superband Coldplay at the du Arena.  
Lionel Richie performs all night long
Richie grasped this extra wave of excitement and took the party up a gear opening with "Run with the Night" then followed with super-famous tracks "Hello" to "All Night Long", showing all his class as the ultimate showman. As the night continued Richie made every single fan feel as if they were being serenaded by the superstar.
Building towards a climatic finish he then enraptured the crowd with his enigmatic performance belting out his incredible catalogue of hits to take them on a non-stop personal musical journey. He was supported by home-grown indie-folk trio, Vandalye, who opened the night on the main arena stage.

Parties continue at Yasalam After Hours
Celebrating long into the night were the parties of Yasalam After Hours where Travis Scott kept the good times rolling at MAD while Jay Sean, DJ Ono (Bangkok Invaders) and DJ PHB appeared at Amber Lounge. Showcasing the star power of the festival Drake thrilled the crowds at VIP Room while White Dubai Experience offered something completely different at Iris.

Yas Island events
Yasalam the celebrations enter their final phase on Monday with one of the most contemporary artists of all, Rihanna, performing at the final After-Race Concert.
After-Race Concert wristband collection:
All race ticket holders will need to collect a wristband from the Information Points at Yas Marina Circuit each day to access the evening concert. The concerts are exclusively for race ticket holders:
  • Present your F1 ticket at one of the Information Points within each Oasis and an After-Race Concert wristband for that day will be attached by customer service representative to your wrist
  • Present this wristband and your ticket to the DuArena to gain access to the After-Race Concerts
Music fans will also be looking to keep the party going on Yas Island through Yasalam After Hours with Future taking to the stage at MAD and Jay Sean, DJ Ono (Bangkok Invaders) and DJ PHB back at Amber Lounge for the F1 Driver's Party. It's Drake and Friends ruling the roost at VIP Room while beat master Nic Fanciulli will be behind the decks at Iris.
