At 21, not only is Tala the Editor-in-chief of a popular blog, she’s also worked for brands like Halston and Tom Ford, contributes to various publications, and works as a fashion consultant

NAME: Tala Samman

JOB: London School of Fashion Grad by Day, Super successful blogger by night

Born in the US, Syrian by descent, raised in Dubai, studied in London, worked in New York, vacationed all over the world — Tala sounds like a citizen of the world. She started myfashdiary.com, her  blog, three years ago to share her fashion exploits with her friends and whoever would be interested, but it turned out to be hugely popular, and snowballed her career as a fashion consultant and writer. We caught her on a whirlwind trip to Dubai, and since she’s in the midst of moving cities (London to Dubai, to start a new job), we couldn’t see her entire wardrobe, but she did give us the lowdown on her favourite pieces.

Numero uno on the list is her biker jacket which
instantly glams up any outfit — whether a dress or good ole skinnies with a top. She loves experimenting with trends, and says everyone should do so too to see what structures and cuts work for your body type, and the hues that bring out your skin tone best. But, she advises, it is better to sport what suits one’s body type, instead of wearing the latest trends blindly.

Some fash advice? “Have a few staples in your wardobe that always work — a great jacket, well-fitting pair of skinnies (when I find one, I buy them in every colour), and get rid of the crop tops.”
