"Intuition truly is the best"

Mahek Umesh Chandnani, founder of Arumah multi designer store, wants more patience... and a solar-powered air conditioner for those hot days

The number one item on your wish list?
One of my worst fears is getting into the car every morning - it feels like a sauna in there. So I guess the top item on my wish list would be an air conditioner that can keep my car cool when it's parked in the sun. And it should be environment-friendly, of course (maybe something solar powered?).

What good deed are you planning to do today?
I strongly believe in the philosophy 'be good, do good'. Today, I'm going to try and have more patience, especially with people who have a tendency to stress me out.

Name one motto you believe in.
As clichéd as it is, always listen to your heart. Intuition truly is the best.  

Your fitness mantra.
It's not easy to hit the gym every day, but you know what is possible? Meditation. It's food for the soul and I make sure I get an hour of it, daily.

The first thing you thought about when you woke up this morning.
I thought about how grateful I am to God for giving me this day, and everything else.

Your greatest fear.
Getting angry. I think having a temper is scary because you can end up saying or doing things that you regret later. All I can say for now is don't anger me!

A way in which you are trying to change your life this year.
I want to read more. I love those flashes of inspiration that reading can bring. One moment you have your nose buried in a book, and then a word or sentence may just resonate with you. Something just clicks and before you know it, your life is changed forever!

Favourite movie character of all time?
I've always been a fan of Geet, played by Kareena Kapoor in the Bollywood flick Jab We Met. She's so inspiring because she listens to her heart, yet she is bold enough to bear the consequences of her actions when things go wrong - it's something not everyone is prepared to do. I also love how positive she is, and how she loves unconditionally.

If you could have your pick of superpowers, what would you choose?
I'm going to go with the oldest one in the book, simply because it is something I really want - the power to stop all the meaningless wars around the world and somehow bring peace to all.
