I am 25 years old and have very dry skin. Could you please suggest a natural home remedy for glowing skin? I would also like to know if there is a good moisturising routine to follow at night, before bed.
- Name withheld
Dry skin is mainly due to poor intake of water. Make sure you drink at least 9-10 glasses of water daily. Coconut is very nourishing. Take a pinch of rice powder and mix it with a few drops of coconut oil. Wet your face, apply this scrub, leave to dry and scrub off before rinsing with cold water. Dab your skin dry with a towel. Do this daily for best results. Do this before you go to sleep. This treatment is the best moisturising routine. Almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and sesame oil are all good moisturisers.
I'm a 14-year-old girl with a pimple problem. My pimples last for days - sometimes weeks - and lead to black marks and scars if they pop. Do pimples occur due to dandruff in hair? Does steaming help to get rid of pimples? Could you please suggest a remedy for my black spots and to stop new pimples from forming?
- Neha
Dandruff is one of the major reasons for pimples. Get rid of dandruff by massaging one tablespoon of aloe vera gel mixed with nine drops of tea tree oil to your face and scalp. Leave it on overnight, or at least for an hour before shampooing. You will notice your pimples and dandruff start to clear, your skin will also brighten and your pores will be clean. Steaming helps soften pimples and cleanses the pores.
I am a 19-year-old boy with scanty hair growth on my face. I would like to grow a fuller beard and moustache. Could you please give me some tried-and-tested tips on how I can do this?

Castor oil helps thicken hair and stimulates hair growth. Warm some castor oil and add a few drops of vinegar to it. Massage this on the parts of your face where you want thick hair growth. Do this every day for quick results. Vinegar cleanses and balances the ph level of the skin.
Could you please suggest a remedy for dandruff with ingredients at home?

Beat two tablespoons of yoghurt into a creamy consistency and add half a teaspoon of cinnamon and a teaspoon of lime juice to it. Scrub your scalp with this mixture. Rinse and shampoo your hair after one hour. Do this thrice a week to help clean the dandruff from your scalp.
I am a 16-year-old boy with pimples on my back and shoulders. I have noticed the problem has been getting a lot worse of late. Could you please suggest a home remedy to cure this?

Tamarind pulp is very cooling and an effective way to treat pimples. Add a little corn flour to the tamarind pulp to add some body to the mask. Apply this on the pimples and leave on for at least an hour; you may leave it on overnight as well. Rinse and repeat daily for best results.
