I am 25 years old. My skin is very oily and sensitive; yet, at times, it's dry. I have dark brown patches and circles around my mouth and a dark neck, face and hands. I have mild PCOS and grade 1 fatty liver. I've tried lemon, honey and tomatoes in the past, but have seen no improvement whatsoever. Instead, pimples appear immediately.  Please suggest simple home remedies for this.

A regular mask of papaya purée will help even your skin tone and clear the dead skin, making it soft, smooth and healthy. Apply the papaya mask twice a day to help reduce your skin's oiliness. If you want, you can also opt to rub a slice of papaya on your skin, instead of the papaya purée - it works both ways.

I am a 14-year-old suffering from pimples and pimple marks on my cheeks. Please help. I have sensitive skin.

A diet correction may be required for a start: reduce spicy, oily foods, avoid chocolates and coffee, and drink 10-12 glasses of water daily. Make a mask by mixing 1 tsp of cucumber juice and 1 tsp of aloe vera gel with cornflour. Apply the paste to clean skin, leave on for an hour and rinse with cold water. Do this everyday for best results.

I am 20 years old and looking for a home remedy for hair loss. My hair has become dry and my scalp oily; it starts to smell due to the excess oil production and I'm even finding bald patches! Please provide a good hair loss remedy, as I am getting increasingly worried by the day.

Your hair will need this twice-a-week hair pack to reduce the oiliness in the scalp, promote hair growth and take care of the bald patches. Make a paste by mixing fenugreek seeds that have been soaked overnight, and aloe vera. Apply this into each parting of the hair and leave on for an hour; rinse with room temperature water. Fenugreek seeds, rich in proteins and vitamins, will help activate hair growth, making hair soft and smooth. Meanwhile, aloe vera is an excellent cleanser and conditioner that can help arrest hair fall.

I was diagnosed with minor PCOD and am overweight due to a poor diet and sedentary lifestyle. This has led to severe acne on my face, excessive hair growth on my neck and face, and stretch marks on my body. Please suggest some remedies to help me get rid of the ice pick and box scars left by the pimples, excessive hair and red marks on my face and stretch marks. I am very depressed due to these issues.

Apply a mask of oats powder mixed with cucumber juice to your face. When dry, scrub gently with cold water. Your skin will soften and the cucumber juice will help clear the acne and its marks. When scrubbing, scrub against the hair growth and the facial hair will gradually shed off, leaving you with calm, clear skin.

I have been getting tiny red pimples/boils on my body of late. They pop up randomly all over the place: on my back, my thigh, my calf, my stomach - but only one at a time. I've never had this problem before and don't know what is causing it, but they are leaving behind brown spots. What can I do to remove these blemishes on my skin?

I would suggest drinking 2 tbsp of aloe vera juice on an empty stomach and applying aloe vera gel on the tiny red pimples. You may cover them with cotton pads to help keep the gel in place. Aloe vera has rich, cleansing and healing properties, so its gel can help clear the blemishes.
