How do you typically start your work day?
My workday starts with a visit to the Filli Café head office. It's very important for me to have my finger on the pulse of my brand's everyday operations. I spend the first half of the day meeting the top level management team to get a good understanding of our day-to-day dealings and market standing. These visits help me develop effective and efficient plans for the future.

What is your favourite thing about your job?
I love engaging and collaborating with new people on a regular basis.
In your workday, what is the one thing you cannot do without?
I'm a bit of a perfectionist, and I like to know the exact happenings in each of my outlets. I make it a point to visit as many Filli Café outlets as I can in a day. These visits help me understand my clientele better.
Most challenging project to date.
Franchising! In an effort to make our brand's footing in a global platform, my team and I decided to focus our energy into sourcing suitable franchising opportunities. It is a hard task, meeting with potential investors on a regular basis and convincing them of the profitability our cafés bring on board. Having said that, these meetings turned out to be great learning opportunities for us. It helped us fine tune and build our brand from strength to strength. Looking ahead, we have some ambitious plans for growth in both regional and international markets and our aim is to target a mix of new markets in various GCC countries as well as the UK, US, Canada, India, Pakistan and North Africa.
One scent that you absolutely cannot get enough of?
The smell of good tea infused with a hint of saffron.
Who's your role model as the perfect professional?
Richard Branson.
Your favourite indulgence when you need a break from work.
Travelling and visiting new places. In fact, I'm planning a trip with my family soon.
What is the last thing you usually do before you go to sleep?
I say my bedtime prayers
What is your greatest dream, professionally?
To be recognised globally, and to make Filli Café the go-to tea joint across borders.
Any advice for aspiring entrepreneurs?
Consistency, hard work, and ethics are three important characteristics any aspiring entrepreneur should inculcate in themselves. Success cannot be had without struggle and perseverance.
