How do you typically start your workday?

I get into the office at 9.30am on the dot, energised and ready to go. I say my prayers, followed by a cup of tea, after which I take on my first appointment. Most of my makeovers are scheduled as the first case of the day, as that is when my concentration is at its peak.

Describe your work in a sentence.

I'd call it: the art beyond the science of cosmetic dentistry.

What is your #1 personal principle or success mantra at work?

My mantra is: do unto others as you would have them do unto you. My principle is to listen to what the focus of the complaint is, rationally and mutually assimilate it, and finally create results in a zone of excellence.

In your workday, what is the one thing you cannot do without?

I concentrate in focused bursts and therefore need several tiny breaks, along with a cuppa, in order to come back to the procedure and visualise it better.

Most challenging experience to date.

I remember a patient with a cleft lip and palate, who came in asking for a beautiful smile. It seemed virtually impossible, owing to the nature of the defect. But keeping her desire in mind, I had to pull a rabbit out of a hat and give her something to smile with and more!

Your role model as the perfect professional?

As someone with immense respect for achievers in various arenas, I tend to take little pearls of wisdom and inspiration from their careers and put together a picture that suits me best. Sachin Tendulkar, Michael Schumacher and Bill Gates are some of the eminent personalities I admire a lot for their unwavering vision and approach to reach their goals, uncompromised.

Your favourite indulgence when you need a break from work?

Flying jet model aircrafts at high speeds and feeling that rush as I watch them tear up the skies - my hobby of aeromodelling takes up much of my spare time.

What is your greatest dream, professionally?

To remove any reservations from the hearts of clients who are conscious about their smiles. I dream of becoming technically acclaimed and continuing to spread happy smiles to the faces of people from every part of the world!
