6 November 2009 I am a nine-year-old boy, studying in Grade 4, so my ideal weekend means nothing but playing. On Thursday evenings, my friends and I start the weekend by playing football and then we move on to cricket.
Later in the evening, I visit the shopping mall with my parents. While my mother shops for groceries, my father, sister and I spend some time in the Magic Planet play area at City Centre and play car-racing and other video games. After playing, my entire family and I go to the food court for dinner. While my parents settle down with a couple of Hindi movies to watch at night, it’s time for me to play. So I play computer games or video games.
On Friday mornings, I don’t wake up before 9 o’clock. I tuck in to crisp dosas and chutney and get ready for Friday namaaz (prayers). I also religiously read a chapter from the Qur’an. Lunch usually includes fish curry, which I eat while watching children’s movies. In the afternoon, I laze around reading comics or wknd magazine. In the evening, I hang out with my friends and by 7.30 pm, I am at home for my keyboard practice. On Saturdays, I do my homework and later slip away out with my bat and ball and then go to bed early. But if I have examinations, my mamma tries her best to curb all my playing.

The Knowledge
The recent Formula One Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi was a fantastic spectacle. It has really got me revved up about improving my skills as a driver, particularly when it comes to driving at high speed. I don’t want to lose my licence by speeding on Dubai’s roads, so can you put me in touch with a specialist driver training course?
Rodd Hill, Dubai
You’re right Rodd, if you start speeding about Dubai’s roads then you could get yourself into a lot of trouble. So, we suggest you head over to Dubai Autodrome to live out your speed demon dreams safely, and quickly, on the state-of-the-art-track. The Autodrome runs regular track days where drivers of all abilities can satisfy their need for speed safely, and in their own vehicles. It’s the closet thing you can get to being an F1 driver in your own car. www.dubaiautodrome.com
