Video: Fire breaks out in under-construction Sharjah building

Several fire engines were seen on site trying to bring the blaze under control.

A huge fire has broken out in Sharjah's Qassimiyah area.

Several fire engines were seen on site trying to bring the blaze under control. The tenants of neighbouring buildings have been evacuated for safety.

The civil defense official said they received a call about the fire at 6:50pm and fire firefighters from two fire stations in Sharjah were immediately dispatched to the site, who reached the site in less than 6 minutes.

The fire fighters are currently controlling the fire to prevent it from spreading to nearby residential buildings.
