Two Emiratis were airlifted after they sustained serious injuries when their vehicle veered off the road and overturned in Al Wathba farms area in Abu Dhabi.
An air ambulance from the police air wing department rescued the victims and carried them to Mafraq Hospital, said the Abu Dhabi Police on Saturday, October 12.
"The department's control room was notified by the central operation department about the two citizens who were seriously injured after their car overturned," police said on Twitter.
"A helicopter was immediately sent to the accident site to rescue the injured. They have been taken to the hospital where they are currently receiving treatment." The cause of the accident hasn't been mentioned.
The police's air wing department carries out many specialised humanitarian and community tasks such as providing ambulance services, search and rescue missions, aerial photography and monitoring of roads using the latest technologies and mechanisms to rescue patients and injured victims.
