Abu Dhabi landmarks lit up in the colours of the Ethiopian flag in honour of the Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed winning the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday, October 11.
Abiy Ahmed won the prize for his efforts to resolve the long-running conflict with neighbouring foe Eritrea.

Abiy was honoured "for his efforts to achieve peace and international cooperation, and in particular for his decisive initiative to resolve the border conflict with neighbouring Eritrea," the Nobel Committee said.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces also congratulated the Ethiopian Prime Minister on winning the Nobel Peace Prize.
Sheikh Mohamed conveyed his felicitations to the Ethiopian PM on his official Twitter account.
