Apple recently released iOS 10 for everyone after unveiling the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus and everyone wants to be the first to know the new features right away. Here are some things you can do with the iOS 10 that you couldn't do with previous versions, courtesy of Grafdom.com:
Notifications: Once you get an alert while busy with another app, just drag it down to open it in a pop up window. It works in a similar way to the lock screen function.
Find where you parked your car: Now, you don't have to roam around the car park looking for your car. The moment you stop driving, Apple shows a notification to drop a pin at the location and you can use the pin to find your way back to your car. You can also add a photo of the parking area (optional).
Siri with third-party apps: Siri can now do more inside apps with iOS 10. You can add Siri built-in functions in apps like LinkedIn, Slack and Lyft. New third-party integrations will be available in the near future like finding photos and viewing health and fitness stats.
'Raise to Wake' feature: You can now check on your notifications without pushing buttons. How does it work? You can pick up your phone and the lock screen appears.
Camera launches faster: A single swipe to the left gets you straight to camera and you can start snapping away.
Remove some of the stock apps: Now you can uninstall stock apps. Just tap and hold and you can remove those unwanted apps. You can again reinstall them using iTunes.
'Bedtime' feature: This feature will help you get in and out of bed at the same time each day. iOS 10 will ask you how many hours of sleep you'd like to have and what time you want to wake up and on which days. There will be an alarm for nap time as well.
Delete music files you're not listening to: Under settings - music, you can optimise storage on your iCloud. Just toggle the on switch and it will automatically delete songs that you haven't listened to in a while. This is extremely useful when you're low on space.
New emojis: Emojis are more than ever with 100 new added in iOS 10. A lot of the new icons give you the option of male or female versions of existing emoji. Tap the emoji button on the keyboard to see them.
Notifications on lock screen: There's even more inline functionality than iOS 9. If you hard-press an alert, you can see what options you have. Also, you can instantly cancel an Uber ride in one tick.
On/Off Read Receipts: You can do this in iOS 10 per conversation. This works if you want certain people not to know you have read their messages. Just tap the "i" icon at the top of any conversation and you'll see a new Send/Read Receipts switch. You can toggle this on or off. However, this feature only works with iMessage threads.
Remembers favourite places: For Apple maps, just swipe up on the search box and see places you visit regularly and you can access them in a tap.
Food stops: Apple Maps will also show you nearby food stops or gas stations along the way, while giving you live traffic information en route your journey.
Unsubscribe from mailing lists: Mailing lists can consume much of your space. Good thing you can easily unsubscribe from them. Just tap the blue shortcut link, confirm your choice, and it will automatically send a message on your behalf, telling the sender that you want to unsubscribe.
