Travis Ishikawa had three extra-base hits and drove in four runs to power the Pittsburgh Pirates past Kansas City 10-7 in an interleague match on Monday.
Also, the Los Angeles Angels won both games of a doubleheader against Boston, Washington beat the New York Mets to widen the gap between the top teams in the National League East division, while Atlanta downed the NL West-leading Los Angeles Dodgers 7-5.
Ishikawa, who was 1 for 13 with one RBI in nine games since the Pirates signed him on July 5, hit a two-run double in a four-run second inning and a two-run homer in the fifth.
Pirates starter AJ Burnett (8-3) won despite giving up a season-worst five earned runs in his first start since his inaugural trip to the All-Star Game.

Cincinnati's Todd Frazier connected for the first time since he won the All-Star Home Run Derby, as the Reds beat the Chicago Cubs 5-4. Detroit's Ian Kinsler homered twice, including a go-ahead two-run shot in the eighth inning, as the Tigers won 5-4 against Seattle. Colorado's Ben Paulsen hit a tiebreaking single with one out in the bottom of the ninth to give the Rockies an 8-7 win against Texas after blowing a seven-run lead. - AP
