Dubai - The tournament will be held in two stages - the Super Series Open for UAE residents, and the Elite Series for the invited international players from abroad.

The elite section of the 39th edition of ISC-APEX Open Badminton Tournament will see internationals taking part at the Indian Social Centre, Abu Dhabi.
The tournament will be held in two stages - the Super Series Open for UAE residents, and the Elite Series for the invited international players from abroad. The Super Series will be spread over a fortnight, the title rounds being scheduled for January 15. The Elite Series will commence on January 19 with the finals slotted for January 22.
The finalists of the Super Series - the men's singles and men's doubles - will be given the opportunity to compete in the Elite Series.
Leading the elite list this year are Fikri Hadmadi (Indonesia); Malaysia's Muhammad Hafiz bin Hashim the former world no. 18 and 2003 All England champion; Mohammed Razif bin Latif; and Mohammed Zakry bin Latif; and Pakistan's ranked stars Atique Muhammad; Syed Shabar Hussain; Murad Ali; and Awais Zahid.
The strong Indian line-up has current Indian singles top 15 circuit player Sidharth Thakur; Anup Sridhar, former world 25; Rupesh Kumar, the 2010 Commonwealth Games doubles silver medallist and Bitburger Open 2010 champion; Chirag Shetty; Shivam Sharma; Arjun M.R.; and Harshit Agarwal in the appearance list.
One of the oldest and biggest badminton tournaments in the UAE, the chapter this year offers over Dh100,000 in prize money. The event was inaugurated by the club's acting president Dr Rajah Balakrishnan, Sunday evening.
