Al Wahda have had no respite, so to speak. The Arabian Gulf League fixtures list has been such that The Clarets have come up against tough opponents so far, with their opening game being the exception.
After an opening fixture against newcomers Dibba Al Fujairah, Al Wahda have taken fellow challengers Al Shabab, Al Jazira, defending champions Al Ain and Al Nasr.
And that is set to continue with Al Wahda welcoming a red-hot Al Ahli at the Al Nahyan Stadium on Sunday evening.
Al Ahli go into the game on the back of a thrilling stoppage time win over Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal which saw them enter their maiden AFC Champions League final. It remains to be seen if coach Cosmin Olaroiu will go in with most of his regulars after their exertions four days ago.
Nevertheless, Al Wahda coach Javier Aguirre said his side were well prepared to take on the Red Knights.
"It will not be an easy game but we are prepared and are ready to take on Al Ahli," Aguirre said ahead of the game.
"Al Ahli have won all their three fixtures that they have played so far but we have done well too in the last three games. We are confident that we can beat them, especially since we are playing at home," the Mexican added.
Al Ahli have played only three League fixtures because of their AFC Champions League commitments, while this will the sixth game for Al Wahda.
Aguirre believed Al Ahli will put up a strong team against his side. "I don't think Al Ahli will take it easy. They have professional players who are good and they have many good alternatives as well. It will be a very tough game but I have great confidence in my players and I'm sure they will put in a good performance," he said.
